DETAILED HAVEN PRIMARY CURRICULUM

From Primary One to Primary Three, learners are introduced to structured formal learning with strong emphasis on foundational skills. At this level, the curriculum focuses on early literacy, numeracy, reading, writing, handwriting, listening, and speaking skills. Teaching methods are learner-centered and interactive, ensuring that children build confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning while gradually adapting to classroom routines and academic expectations. In addition to academic development, learners in Primary One to Three are supported in building essential social, emotional, and life skills. Through guided activities, group work, and supervised play, learners develop communication skills, cooperation, self-discipline, independence, and respect for others, laying a strong foundation for future academic and personal growth.
From Primary Four to Primary Seven, learners transition into more advanced and structured academic learning. At this stage, emphasis is placed on critical thinking, problem-solving, research skills, and independent learning. Learners are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their academic progress and personal development. Academically, learners deepen their understanding of core subjects including Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies, while developing strong study habits and examination techniques. The curriculum is aligned with national education standards and is designed to adequately prepare learners for assessments and a smooth transition to secondary education. Participation in co-curricular activities such as board games, soccer, ballet, piano, and home economics complements classroom learning. These activities support physical development, creativity, teamwork, leadership, and confidence, while also allowing learners to discover and nurture individual talents and interests.
Engagement in handwork and practical skills including painting, clay modeling, beading, and creative craftwork enhances fine motor skills, creativity, and concentration. These activities promote patience, innovation, and problem-solving, while providing learners with opportunities for self-expression and practical application of classroom learning.
